Snoo Smart Sleeper Baby Bassinet
On the recommendation of a few friends, we decided to splurge on the Snoo. Our first was not a great sleeper; for our second, we were approaching 40 and feeling apprehensive about sleepless nights with a new baby. The Snoo can sense when baby fusses and soothes them back to sleep with gentle side-to-side rocking and white noise. This thing is MAGIC. I loved that it kept him safely on his back and it truly did help him stay asleep longer. If your baby actually needs a diaper change or is hungry, they’re going to wake up – this doesn’t change that – but for those times that your baby rouses between sleep cycles, the Snoo rocks them back to sleep so they don’t fully wake up. We even hauled this thing to the in-laws’ for the holidays – it’s that good! We had no trouble weaning baby off the Snoo when it was time to transition to a regular crib. There is an app that allows you to control the level of motion and white noise manually, or you can just let the Snoo do its thing and adjust based on the sounds of your baby.
Due to the strong secondhand market for the Snoo, Happiest Baby (the company that sells the Snoo) has cracked down on the app, making a paid premium version to use all the features. You can get a used Snoo for 50% off retail price, and you will use it for about 6 months; still worth it, in my opinion! The updated app also allows for tracking diapers and feeding, so you can’t keep track of all things baby in one place. While this item is definitely a splurge, it has great resale value and goes on sale a couple times per year.
